Ghana midfielder Essien set to stay at AC Milan , named in pre- season squad

Ghana star midfielder Michael Essien could stay put with Serie A giants AC Milan despite reports linking him with a move away
from the Estadio San Siro. New Milan boss Filippo Inzaghi has included the 31- year- old along with international team - mate Sulley Muntari in his 31- man
squad for their pre - season tour of the United States.
Over the past few weeks , the former Chelsea star has been linked with several clubs including Turkish sides Galatasaray , Besiktas and Trabzonspor while Greek giants
Olympiakos and Panathinaikos are both interested.
However , new Milan manager Inzaghi who has taken over from Clarence Seedorf, has shown he has plans for the experienced midfielder as he names him in his squad .
This could mean clubs with intentions of landing the midfielder who turns 32 in December must intensify their bids to stand
any chance of signing him.
While on pre -season in the USA , Essien is expected to be in action for Milan as they face Olympiacos , Manchester City and Liverpool.
