Alonso to return to Anfield?
Liverpool are weighing up a
return for their former star Xabi
Alonso.
It has been quite an intriguing
rumor for Liverpool fans as
former star midfielder Xabi
Alonso is rumored to be on his
way to return to Anfield.
The rumors spring upped after
reports claimed that Real Madrid
are preparing to offload Xabi
Alonso to make a way for new
arrivals.
Real Madrid brought in some
midfielders Toni Kroos from
Bayern Munich and James
Rodriguez from Monaco, after
both of them enjoyed impressive
campaign in World Cup Brazil.
The arrival of the midfielders has
made the squad crowded and
therefore could tempt Real
Madrid to offload some
midfielders.
Real Madrid has already signaled
their intention to let Argentina
international Di Maria go after
Rodriguez was signed for his
place. Similarly, Real are currently
embroiled in the contract rift
with German midfielder Sami
Khedira but as the player now
seemingly prepared to see out
his contract at the club,
Ancelotti’s side could sell Alonso
to make space for another
signing Toni Kroos.
Should Real let Alonso go,
Liverpool are tipped to be
favorites to snap up him for the
Anfield side being Alonso’s
former club. Alonso was a
considerable figure in the Reds
team that won Champions
League at Istanbul dramatically,
back in 2005.
The Spanish international has
been an influential performer for
Real as well, winning La Liga with
the club back in 2011/12, though
he sat out last season’s
Champions League final victory
over Atletico Madrid due to
suspension.
