Capello shrugs off unpaid wages rumours
It has been reported that the Italian has not received any money since the World Cup but he says he's only thinking about issues on the field
Russia boss Fabio Capello has refused to be drawn on rumours that he has not been paid for three months.
The Italian coach was heavily criticised after his team's shock first-round exit at Brazil 2014 and
it is now being reported that the 68-year-old has not received any wages since the tournament.
However, Capello insists that his only concern at the moment is on Russia beating Liechtenstein in
their opening Euro 2016 qualifier on Monday. "I'm not thinking about the rumours regarding my contract and my money," Capello told reporters.
"Economic questions are the last thing I'm worried about. All of my thoughts have turned to the field; to the game against Liechtenstein."
Capello took charge of Russia two years ago and
his current deal runs until 2018.
