Match Ratings- Fatau Dauda floops again as Ayew saves Ghana

Fatau Dauda 4/10 -The Chippa United goalkeeper had been on a virtual holiday until he was beaten
by Tony Mawejji's shot.In truth no top goalkeeper should be beaten from that far out.
Almost gave away a second after he allowed a shot from Brian Umonyi through but was saved by his side posts. Aside that he was quick off
his line whenever the Ugandan frontline advanced and also distributed the ball well.

John Boye 5/10 -Played at the heart of the black stars defence and endured some shaky moments. Still has work to do on his general
reading and organisation. Won his fair share of aerial duels and made a slew of crucial interceptions.

Jonathan Mensah 6/10 - The other half of Ghana's central defines continues to grow into the team with his quite authority. Made good use of his physicality and pace to check the deadly movement of Oloya and Umony.

Jeffrey Schlupp 5/10 - A nervy competitive debut for the Leicester City man at left back.
Was quickly identified as a weak link by the Cranes who caused him problems through the tricky Walusimbi at right back. Compensated for his defensive weakness though with his offensive
contributions.Putting in several good crosses for Ghana's front line.

Harrison Afful 5/10 -A surprisingly below par performance from one of the break through players of the world cup.His passing was sloppy
and he lacked concentration.Did not offer his usual intelligent running offensively .

Rabiu Mohammed 6/10 - Occupied his usual place in front of the back four and had his hands full with an energetic Ugandan midfield. Covered
a lot of distance and tackled well but tired quickly, allowing the Ugandans to gain a foothold in the game. Made one outstanding last ditch tackle in the first half when a goal looked all but certain.

Kwadwo Asamoah 6/10- Reverted to his favourite deep midfield role but struggled for consistency with his passing.Showed his quality with a delightful 40 yard pass that Gyan failed to convert but misplaced more than he completed on a disappointing evening.

Christian Atsu 5/10- Everton's latest recruit simply could not get into the game on the flanks. Over elaborated too many times and failed to provide width to the Black Stars. His best move was in the first half when his cross was met by Waris.

Andre Ayew 7/10- Put himself out as he was given a free role in midfield. Looked to link up play with Kwadwo Asamoah several times but there was no end product. Tested Onyango in goal for Uganda with a shot after a mazy run in the first half .Lost in play during the second half
but put in a good shift defensively. Converted Ghana's penalty.

Abdul Majid Waris 4/10- The new Trabzonspor striker looked like a man definitely short of match
practice. His movement was off and was constantly beaten in one on one situations by his markers.Earned a dubious penalty for Ghana.

Asamoah Gyan 4/10- With so much drama surrounding his brother before the game it perhaps was not surprising that the team's enigmatic striker looked off colour. Could simply not get into the positions that he exploits so well as a well drilled Ugandan defence kept him at bay.

    Substitutions.

Afriyie Acquah 4/10 -Replaced Rabiu Mohammed and contributed little protection as Uganda gee in confidence in the second half. Was constantly caught in possession and caused several fouls in poor areas of the pitch.

Mubarak Wakaso 4/10 -Is slowly playing himself out of the national team after his remarkable
breakthrough in 2013.Failed to seize the opportunity to impress as he failed to distribute effectively. Was heavy footed and looked off pace.

Jordan Ayew 5/10- Was bright in attack after replacing a lethargic Waris. Was willing to run at a Ugandan defence that had grown accustomed to a staid Gyan and Waris. Could not create much but based on his performance looks like he will start in Lome against Togo on Wednesday.
